Summer Saturday

On Saturday we woke up to sunshine and decided to have a picnic. We went to the park with sandwiches, orange creme sodas (yum!), books and a blanket and enjoyed a summer afternoon doing not much at all.
There was a slope of chapparral (California scrub woodland) on the hill above the park where a couple of Kestrels had nested and Oli got some nice pictures of them.

After lazing on the grass for a few hours, we decided to explore the Stanford campus (I'm a little embarrassed to admit it was our first visit). We strolled through the Rodin sculpture garden and the main quad. At a fountain there were dogs and kids wading. And a rainbow. It was a beautiful summer day.
