Ice Cream & Football
Yesterday Oliver had a hair cut appointment in San Francisco. I decided it was a good time to go get some ice cream, and headed over to Bi-Rite Creamery.
The line there is often long. But I wasn't in a rush. And the ice cream is worth it.
Finally, goods in hand, I headed across the street to Dolores Park for eating. I got 1 scoop toasted coconut and 1 scoop malted vanilla - which had clusters of salty caramel peanut crunch in it. Yum!
A sunny Saturday afternoon is something to be savored in San Francisco. And everyone was out enjoying it.
Another scene of Dolores Park:
In the evening we went over to Berkeley to see friends who are both LSU alums, and huge LSU football fans. The game played at 8am instead of in the afternoon, because of the approaching hurricane and evacuations, so we missed seeing it. But LSU won. Here is Adrian (happy because LSU won) with the multiple TVs set up to watch multiple games (Cal was playing that afternoon as well, and also won). He's holding a bowl of his wife's Allyn's famous red beans, and an Abita beer. And yes, in addition to ice cream, I ate red beans with imported-to-California Louisiana sausage, corn bread, lemon cookies and peanut praline. Oh, and a hot dog by the BART station. In the words of Adrian, "What a great day!"
