Tomatoes

My friend Heidi has a garden and she gave me some tomatoes and onions. The tomatoes are Anna Russian tomatoes, which grow in an ox-heart shape, have very few seeds, and are sweet-ish in taste. In the picture below, the middle one is ox-heart shaped. The other two are what Heidi calls "freakish". The tomato on the left is particularly, um, interesting (or is that freakish?). You can see a picture of it before it was picked and still on the vine at Heidi's garden blog.

I think fresh summer tomatoes are best eaten sliced with Olive oil, salt and pepper. Yum!
