Moon Fest
On Sunday we went to the NASA Ames campus where they were holding a Moon Fest. There were small rocket launches, exhibitors, food, and games for kids. But we pretty much just attended the talks. There were a couple presentations on the LCROSS project where researchers are exploring the deep cold craters of the moon to look for frozen water. There were also talks about how to inspire future generations to become interested in science and astronomy, and a talk by an astronaut. It was an interesting day.
In this photo you can see Hangar One behind me. Hangar One is an important historic site here in Silicon Valley. Those of you in Germany may be amused that we consider a structure from the 1930's historic, but in California, that is practically ancient history!
